About me
Hello, my name is Alison. I have always had a love of complementary therapies and qualified as a reflexologist and in Indian head massage in 2000. I have recently qualified at the London School of Reflexology in the Bergman Method facial reflexology and Zone Face Lift.

I worked for a mental health charity and saw first-hand, the impact of today’s challenging world and the effect it can have on us all.
After making some life changing decisions, I moved to Suffolk in 2020 and now do my dream job from a therapy room, The Wellbeing Shed, in my garden in Woodbridge.

I have a warm, intuitive approach and believe that it is vital that we make time for ourselves and our wellbeing. I spend as much time as I can outside as I love being amongst nature, particularly by the sea.
foot Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy and is based on the principle that different points of the feet, face and hands correspond with different areas of the body.  It origins are in Egypt and China and date back to around 2300BC.  The reflexology treatment we now use in the modern day was developed by Eunice Ingham in the 1930s, who mapped the zones of the feet in relation to the organs of the body. Reflexology works alongside modern medicine, lifestyle and nutrition to promote positive physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.  It helps the body to fight any imbalance brought on by stress by improving blood flow throughout the body and releasing tension from within.

As reflexologists we do not diagnose or claim to cure specific health conditions.  Reflexology is a holistic therapy which treats you as a whole person and can help you cope with many stress related problems.
Benefits
Reflexology treats your whole body, to restore its balance naturally. It can benefit people experiencing a wide range of health issues including stress, anxiety and depression. However, you don’t need to be unwell to feel the benefits of this treatment, whether you are feeling a bit run down or overwhelmed with life’s busyness, a reflexology treatment will help rebalance your body and its ability to support you in everyday life.

Treatment
At your first session, in The Wellbeing Shed, we will start with a lifestyle consultation about your current wellbeing so that the treatment can be tailored to your needs. During the reflexology treatment, you remain fully clothed apart from your socks and shoes.  A cream or balm is applied and specialised massage techniques are used on the reflex points on your feet. At the end of your treatment you will have some time to relax before you go back to reality.
aftercare
It is recommended that after a treatment you drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol for the hours immediately afterwards.
Facial reflexolgy
Facial reflexology focusses on reflex points on the face to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms. Compression techniques are used to stimulate these reflex points. Facial reflexology aims to help your entire body function at its optimal level and can give you a more radiant and glowing complexion.

benefits
Facial reflexology can relieve the effects of stress and mental strain, improve circulation to the face and the head area. It can improve lymphatic drainage and relieve tension in the muscle tissue. It helps relieve sinusitis/congestion.
It has a rejuvenating effect on the skin and leaves the face glowing and radiant.

treatments
There will be a consultation before the treatment. Gentle massage and pressure is applied to specific points on the face to encourage the body's natural healing mechanisms.
aftercare
Drink plenty of water in the next 24 hours to aid the detoxifying process. Rest as much as possible for the remainder of the day and avoid stimulants (tea, coffee
& alcohol).
Zone face lift
The Zone Face Lift, developed by Ziggie Bergman, is a natural, non-invasive facial treatment which uses gentle compression and massage techniques to soften constrictions within the facial muscles and the connective tissue. These techniques are combined with facial reflexology.
Benefits
Zone face lift is a natural way of reducing and softening the signs of ageing. It can smooth and lift the face, naturally stimulate collagen and elastin from the inside. Improves blood flow It aids relaxation and can help with migraines, insomnia and sinus problems.

indian head massage
Indian head massage techniques have been passed down through generations in India for thousands of years. The therapy originates from the word Ayurveda, an ancient method involving natural therapies which take into account mind, body and spirit.

Indian head massage incorporates traditional Indian and Western massage techniques, using different pressures and massage strokes. It increases blood circulation to the scalp, face, neck and shoulders and releases accumulated stress in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, neck, face and shoulders.
benefits
Indian head massage encourages the body’s natural re-balancing and healing ability to flourish.

It can benefit people experiencing stress and anxiety, headaches, sinus problems, insomnia and can also promote hair growth.
treatments
There will be a consultation before the treatment.  During the treatment which lasts for approximately 30 minutes, you remain fully clothed and will sit on a low backed chair.  Indian head massage works using massage and stretching techniques on the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. Use of oils is optional.
aftercare
It is not unusual to experience a state of heightened relaxation after  Indian head massage, so it is advised that you spend the rest of your day at a slow pace if possible. Avoid caffeine and alcohol but drink plenty of water to help the body’s detoxification process.
